The W-CAD module

For bids, as basis for the preparation of work or as a check for one's own calculation methods it is often necessary to create true-to-scale drawings containing all relevant dimensions and which consider the type of construction.

The W-CAD module creates a true-to-scale drawing based on the calculated data from WTS / KOND / VERD. The program uses DIN flange catalogues to show flanges true-to-scale. The data are saved in a DXF file and can be processed in CAD programs.

The W-CAD module is an extension of the programs WTS / KOND / VERD. Therefore, a heat exchanger should be calculated with one of the programs first. When switching into W-CAD the data from WTS / KOND / VERD are transferred automatically.

If no exchanger was calculated, the data can also be entered manually in the W-CAD module. In any case the exchanger type according to TEMA (use the option ‘Graphics’ or the function key F3) and the required tubesheet thickness have to be added.

If flange connections are specified for the nozzles, standard flanges are used for the nozzles. As the program uses the data of flange catalogues, an appropriate pressure level (design pressure) should be selected.

The W-CAD module is also the interface to the LV strength calculation modules.

If there is no LV strength calculation module installed, a message is displayed.

Install the LV strength calculation programs and start them once by double click.

IMPORTANT:

Switch to the program directory of the strength calculation program and execute the file 'AD_CAD_prj.exe' by double click. Select the installed server. Terminate the program.

Then you can start the strength analysis of the thermally designed heat exchanger by using the button 'Strength Analysis' in the W-CAD module.
