Design of brackets / lugs attached to cylindrical or spherical shells. Local shell stresses are assessed per WRC Bulletin 537 (polynomial approximations of the Bijlaard charts); stress categorization and acceptance criteria per ASME VIII Division 2, Part 5 Table 5.6. Additionally the bracket plate bending stress and the attachment weld are checked by classical beam / weld theory.
