Calculating the wind loads

For example you can calculate the wind loads with the EC1 module (Eurocode 1 wind loads acc. to DIN EN 1991-1-4).

Start a new EC1 module from the “Project Explorer”‘  and enter the basic data.

Connect the results ‚wind force‘ and ‚wind force moment‘ with the EC3Cyl module.

Results

Value of buckling interaction check ≤ 1 !

Result of buckling interaction check: OK.

Example 2 – Water-filled triple section cylinder

Determination of factor Kappa (κ)

The user must determine factor Kappa (κ) by means of using the diagrams in figure D.6.

1.)  la / L =  0,25 (calculated by the program)

2.)  tc / ta =   1,5  (calculated by the program)

3.)  tb / ta =  1,25 (calculated by the program)

Factor Kappa= 0.5 from diagram.

Buckling interaction check for all sections

The buckling interaction checks are performed for all sections.

Values of all buckling interaction checks ≤ 1 !

Result of buckling interaction check: OK.
