The module calculates critical mass flows through nozzles, valves and pipe fittings according to different authors. Basic physical properties are a necessary prerequisite to perform the calculation completely. The authors differ with regard to the assumptions they have made for the calculation and whether a single-phase or two-phase flow is considered or whether, for example, supercooled or superheated vapors are involved at the inlet.
