TEMA module

TEMA (TUBULAR EXCHANGER MANUFACTURERS ASSOCIATION) is the association of tubular heat exchanger manufacturers in the USA. This association has published standards for the design and construction of heat exchangers.

With the help of the module TEMA the geometrical dimensions and the requirements for shell-and-tube heat exchangers according to TEMA standard are captured. Precondition for the application of TEMA is that the heat exchanger consists of assemblies corresponding with the TEMA standard.

Start the module TEMA with the menu item "Chapter" in the "Atlas" menu. The input and output mask of TEMA is displayed. Now select the TEMA design. With the key [F3] you will get an overview of the TEMA designs. In the next step you have to enter the known geometrical data of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger and the known values of the impingement plates, the baffles and the pitch. As soon as the input values are sufficient, the missing values are calculating according to the TEMA standard.
