Consideration of Nozzle Loads on Vessels in Process Plants (BASF AG, Bayer Technology Services GmbH, Evonik Industries AG, Peter & Partner - Ingenieurgesellschaft, LII Europe GmbH, Linde AG, Lurgi AG)
If there are more nozzles, it becomes increasingly unlikely, that all nozzle forces act in the same direction. This fact the reduction factor takes into account.
It means, the load on the fixed spot is reduced, e.g. with 3 nozzles it is only 80%.
You will find the reduction factor in the AD 2000 Merkblatt S3/0.
